It all started with a cake after all :). No Lewis did not get caked in the face. And it is definitely not his birthday until this Saturday. So like last year, his birthday fell during finals week, this time on the weekend. I thought it'd be fun to get some friends together to surprise him. I called everyone I can think of from Lorien. We definitely missed Sam, Lydia, Brennon, Lauren, Nick, Armen, and German. Next time there will be a mini-reunion!
I was plotting my plan all day with Sam, but he never made it. Francis took over and we decided how this was going to go down. I was done with my second to last final around 9 today. Went to Albertsons to pick up some food and then went back to my place. I didn't start baking until noon and then called up some people. We agreed it'd happen around 6/7ish. The whole plan was for everyone to show up and hide to later pop out and surprise Lewis when he came over for dinner. Plans definitely changed.
Franny came with Billy and Jon Jon. The boys helped me get ready, well not really. We chilled for a bit, but still frantically called Nancy and James. No idea why Lewis ended up at 290, but a new plan was set. The cake only had 12 candles so we lit 8 more (on the counter). Then we decided we should pull a prank on Lewis and make him think I'm the surprise, hence the robe. Jon Jon was modeling poses and the guys were telling me how to react when Lewis walks in, or if James walks in first.
It's way past 7 and we have no idea what's going on. The candles have burned half the wick already so we blew 'em out. Now it's just chilling in the dark. It's hot as hell 'cause I'm still sitting on the counter (fully clothed underneath, thank you very much!). We hear people coming up the stairs and a knock, then a door bell. Francis was by the door, I'm on the counter, Jon Jon and Billy are behind my roommates' curtain with the cake.
The door opens and it's pitch dark. Lewis walks in first and goes, "What the fuck? ANNE?? Wha-...what are you doing?? We have GUESTS! James and Nancy are here...". At this point Lewis was trying to close the door but Francis wouldn't let him. I'm trying not to laugh my ass off and Francis is cracking up from behind.
The door opens and it's pitch dark. Lewis walks in first and goes, "What the fuck? ANNE?? Wha-...what are you doing?? We have GUESTS! James and Nancy are here...". At this point Lewis was trying to close the door but Francis wouldn't let him. I'm trying not to laugh my ass off and Francis is cracking up from behind.
Lewis walks over and asked if this was for his birthday, I denied it was. Then he sees a St. Patrick's Day card on the counter that my roommate left and thought that was the occasion. After a long pause and a series of "what the heck??" Everyone yells out "SURPRISE!" Greatest moment ever 'cause the look on Lewis's face is priceless and there are smiles and laughter all around.
This was definitely good break from studying for finals :D. Hilarious hour of my life.
