This post will be about a 'significant item'. An item I believe I have attachment issues to...a phone. This would be my second phone. My old phone was a hot pink Razr. Razrs were all the rage back in high school and I got mine when college started. Call me a late bloomer, but I quickly understood the importance of communication at your fingertips.
After a a year with T-Mobile (or was it two years?), our contract expired and it was time to decide to either renew or get a new plan. New plan it was and my parents decided to try AT&T/Cingular again. With that move, we got new phones. I chose this phone mainly for it's organization functions. After I got this phone, they came out with a new model that had wireless Internet. Ass. But even so, I can see why some users are addicted to this phone.
Say hello and goodbye to my cell phone. No I did not name it, I've decided names belong to only certain inanimate objects. It's a little ridiculous to name phones. I still have attachment issues to this thing regardless of it being nameless. It's the BlackBerry 8100 Pearl. I've been addicted to updating it with my calendar and contact info with just a USB cord under 2 minutes. I could have done that with any other phone, but in comparison to my Razr, this was a lot faster and nicer.
The only options AT&T/Cingular would offer was either the sleek black or the shiny red phone. Since I had a pink phone before, a red one wouldn't hurt. T-Mobile did offer a navy blue...I still like the red a lot better. It's a bold color, plus it doesn't blend in with the typical black/grey colored phones.
Now why do you ask me why I'm saying goodbye to a perfectly good phone? I will tell you. It's because my parents didn't double check their research and decided T-Mobile was better in the end. I am bitter that I have to send it back. I've spent so much time customizing it with pictures, ringtones, music, etc. I even ordered an Invisible Shield for it to protect it, which Lewis spent a while to help me put it on. I'm sorry :(. I've backed up all the data I need and I slowly have had to peel off the Invisible Shield. It's wrong. I've only had it for about 3 weeks and there was a "recall".
