Work

I'm not quite sure why I'm here on a Saturday afternoon. My boss had asked the student employees to sign up for a Saturday to work since a few of us don't work as much on the weekdays. This has been my second Saturday so far. I don't think I'll volunteer for anymore of them for a while. I need a break from this.

It's a plus today though, we had one student come in. Golly gee, one student! It's rather sad. I don't see why our department can't be closed during the weekends and just have special hours when we know we'll be more busy. UCI Library policies I guess. Last week Steve and I were betting how many students would come in. I guessed one or two for good measure. In those 4 long hours, not one face showed up. I just ended up studying. Sorta doing the same thing today, too.

I love where I'm working, but not really what I'm doing here. This whole week has been grunt work, since the staff is out of projects for us to work on. It's been the really easy, but time consuming stuff like moving books to other shelves, paging, and more shelving. I kind of miss dissertation work, send them back to us ProQuest! I need some decent work to do. Heck, I'll photocopy stuff, just anything to add variety, please.

Today is the Wayzgoose festival, which I'm sure is a lot more entertaining than sitting here for the past 3 hours. The weather wasn't as nice looking as yesterday, but the temperature seems perfect. I've pretty much done whatever possible things one can do on Facebook, Gmail, and Zotlink. So all I'm doing is blogging and reading for Psych. I'm going to see my Uncle and his finacee later today so that should be good fun. It's only been the 3rd week of school and I'm stressed out.
